Party like a rock star for a good cause!
"ROCK YOUR MIND 2006" Benefit Party

We're just days away from the event of the year!!! The 3rd Annual "Rock
Your Mind Benefit Party" is coming up fast, mark your calendars!
It's next week Tuesday, 9/26, from 8pm - midnight at Good Times Pub
(www.gtpub.com) in Elmhurst. Good Times is located on the corner
of North Ave. and Route 83. Tickets are $20, and can be purchased
at the door. Majority of proceeds will go to The National Mental
Health Association (NMHA), to help youth & others learn about
and get help with mental health issues such as depression, suicide,
substance abuse, eating disorders, anxiety disorders, etc.
My friend, Angela Rossi, has dedicated herself to raising awareness
about depression and mental health after losing her brother, Joe,
to suicide in 2002. As a singer/songwriter, Angela uses her music
and her work with NMHA's mpower program to fight stigma and educate
others.
I've decided to help Angela because I too have dealt with many
friends and loved ones who have had mental health issues, and I
know it's hard, so I want to help spread hope to everyone. Millions
of people are affected by mental health issues each year, and by
doing this benefit, we're hoping to reach those people by donating
money to help with research, counseling services, educating people
about mental health awareness, and getting help for those in need.
So this even is TRULY for a great cause that I really believe in,
and I hope you'll join me in supporting it.
It's going to be an AMAZING night that I'm happy to say I've been
working very hard to plan and promote! We're having 3 bands play
(The Dog & Everything, we are your ghost, and Dynamic Vibrations),
along with my great friend Angela Rossi (an mpower Artist), who
will be singing as well. There will also be 2 comedians, Ryan Andrews
and Jack Calhoun. DJ Tim Fusion will also be there, he'll start
mixing some great dance music after the bands play, around 11pm.
There will be raffle tickets to purchase the evening of, and also
free door prize tickets, with LOTS of cool prizes!!! Some of the
generous places that have donated prizes are: Braxton's Seafood
in Oakbrook, Houlihan's Restaurant, the NEW Devon Seafood Grill
in Chicago, Shannon's Irish Pub in Glen Ellyn, Tin Fish Restaurant,
Anyway's Bar and Grill, Champs Sports Bar and Grill, and Giordano's
Pizza in Oakbrook Terrace, along with other great prizes such as
spas/salons, custom outfits by an awesome fashion designer, and
